Hi Everyone!
Hearts to Heroes will be having a car wash on Saturday; May 19, 2012 (Armed Forces Day); from 9:00 a.m., till 2:00 p.m.; behind Cheddar’s Casual Cafe; 2915 Watson Blvd; Warner Robins, GA.
All washes will be by donation which goes towards the shipping costs of sending care packages to our Troops.
Volunteers to help wash vehicles are needed so if you would like to help, please let me know. If you know of anyone that needs to earn Community Service hours and they would like to help with the car wash, please provide me with their name/names. We will have forms available certifying the hours spent helping with the car wash.
We hope to see you at the car wash and if you have any questions, please let me know!
Take care and God Bless!

Hearts to Heroes
Hi Everyone!
Hearts to Heroes received the below email from Chaplain Kim in Afghanistan. I am working on getting a shipment out to him this week with more to follow. Some of the items that they are in need of are:
Towels, soap (male & female), body wash (male & female), hand lotion, saving gel (male & female), Shampoo (male), handi-wipes/wet ones/baby wipes, travel size hand sanitizer, facial cleansers (female), tampons, maxi pads w/wings, lip balm, dental floss, travel size mouth wash, Q-Tips, sun screen lotion, and wall calendars
The above items are what we are low on or do not have on hand and we are always in need of snack food items. For anyone that would like to help, a copy of the Hearts to Heroes Troop Supply List can be obtained from our web site at www.heartstoheroesinc.org or if you would like to make a monetary donation, to help with the shipping costs, please make check out to “Hearts to Heroes” and mail to my attention at P. O. Box 711, Cochran, GA 31014
As Chaplain Kim mentioned in his email, our Troops are under a lot of stress every day and receiving care packages is a great morale booster for them and with your continued help and support, we can make that happen!
Take care and God Bless!

Dear Ms. Foskey,
I am Chaplain Kim with 1-23 Infantry Battalion. My unit has recently deployed and is now in Afghanistan. We are assigned to a very dangerous area, the Panjwayi District. Our Soldiers are taking fire from the Taliban and are at risk of IED attacks daily. These young men are under great deal of stress, and it will mean a lot to them to receive a care
package.
Our Soldiers are taking fire from the Taliban and are at risk of IED attacks daily.
Currently, we have 1,000 Soldiers in our battalion. If Hearts to Heroes would send any support for our Soldiers, I would really appreciate it.
I will ensure that the packages are distributed to our Soldiers. If you have any questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Very respectfully,
Yoonhwan Kim

Please check out the attached information from Wendy and if interested, let her know. She is a wonderful person that I have gotten to know thru her Mother (one of our ladies, Linda H) and Burl worked with her before he retired.
Thanks,
Linda

Good morning! I hope you both are doing great! Burl, I hope you don’t miss us out here too much.
I am Linda H’s daughter. I am Chair of a fundraising committee this year and we are having a Golf Tournament at Waterford on April 27th (click the logo to see the flyer). We still have space available. Please pass this along to the neighborhood and anyone you know who likes to play golf or who just wants to come out and have a good time.
Thank you,
Wendy Bellamy
Hello Ladies,
We had a wonderful time at Shannon’s Restaurant last Thursday night. We would recommend it to anyone wanting good seafood. The answer to the secret question is: If you are going to be dumb, you better be tuff. I know you are wondering about this one but maybe you will not miss our next outing. Our next LNO is scheduled for May 1st at Longhorn’s, so mark your calendars now. Remember that this will be our last dinner out as we take the summer off and only have lunches out monthly.
Jean McC was sick and missed the dinner, so hopefully she is feeling better.
Our LLO (lunch) is Thursday, April 19th at 12:30. We will be eating at Cheddars and hopefully the weather will co-operate so we can sit outside. If you plan to attend, please email me by 6pm on Wednesday night.
If any other neighborhood news needs to be shared, please let me know.
Take care until we chat again.
Linda
